Even the healthiest of us can get into a little too much Halloween fun, and everything is good in moderation but we can sometimes go overboard (and that’s OK!!!)
It can be a struggle to get back on track after having too much sugar. So I’ve come up with easy tips to help you get back on track and do a post-Halloween Candy Detox.
Drink More Water
Make your water consumption a priority for the next few days. It will help to flush out all the toxins that come from overindulging in the Halloween candy. You should aim to drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water each and every day. If you struggle to drink water then check out some of my favorite tips here. You can also download a water tracking app on your phone to remind you to drink enough.
Break the Sugar Addiction
Eating sugar only makes you crave it more. It’s the truth and I can tell you that it’s that signal in your brain that makes you crazy and wanting more. To cut back the craving you can try doing a 3 Day Refresh which is an all natural cleanse to help you get back on track with your nutrition. (I promise you won’t be running to the bathroom 24/7) Also, eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies and focus on getting natural sugars from the food you eat.
Send Your Candy To The Troops
Out of sight out of mind. I know for me personally that having candy in the house is only going to lead me to sneak a piece or two when no one else is looking. Just think about the moments of weakness after a long day, that time of the month, or just mindless late night snack. We’re human and it happens to us all. So, if you don’t have it in the house you’re not tempted.
We let R. choose a handful of pieces to keep as treats and the rest gets donated. This one is close to my heart since my hubby was part of the military. There are different places all over the country that collect the candy and will ship it for you. A quick Google search will help you find a drop off location.
Get your metabolism fired up by getting in at least a good 30 minute sweat session every day this week. Whether it is walking, taking a class, or doing a workout on Beachbody On Demand, it’s time to get your sweat on. It will release those good endorphins, help you shed those unwanted pounds and calories, and it will give you the energy to get through the rest of your day.
I got up this morning and crushed my Turbo Fire post-Halloween workout. It felt great to be back on track! Accountability truly is key to success.
