What is a Challenge Group and How can It Help Me?

It wasn’t until I started coaching that I discovered the amazing things that can happen when you have accountability partners.  I’d always have people tell me that I should get myself a workout buddy or someone that I could check in with and keep me on track, but I thought they were a little crazy.  However, once I joined Beachbody I discovered challenge groups.  These groups have changed the way I workout, keep myself and others accountable for our goals.

What is a Beachbody Challenge Group?

In short a challenge group is a support group filled with people who are all working towards their own health and fitness goals. Everyone is doing a Beachbody program and the group is run by an independent Beachbody coach.

Is There A Charge for the Challenge Group?

Other than the cost of your challenge pack, there is no additional fees or requirements.  The cost of a challenge pack will vary depending on what is on sale this month.  Want help in finding the perfect program and nutrition for you? Just fill out the form and I can help you.

Are All the Challenge Groups the Same?

There are different types of Beachbody Challenge groups.  I personally run a shorter FREE group every month and a longer 3-4 week challenge group that requires your to be working out with a Beachbody program or drinking Shakeology.

Each group that I run requires daily participation and posting. For the free challenge group, you check in daily by answer the questions that I post into the group. For the longer challenges you are required to check in daily with how you are feeling, what your nutrition was for the day, how much water you have drunk, your workout for the day and if you drank your shakeology or not.

Where are Challenge Groups Run? Do I Have to Go Somewhere?

There’s no need to leave the house or put on make-up. All groups are run on line either through FB or an App. on your phone.  It’s like having a team of people cheering you on while you’re in pajamas on the sofa or debating whether to work out or not. Which is, of course, an awesome way to get support.

This is a two fold answer.  FREE groups are run through a private Facebook group.  Only people who are in the group can see what is being posted. Poeple who have joined the group can access the exclusive 7 day meal plan and exercises.

The 3-4 week challenge groups, where you are working through a Beachbody program, are run through a private app. called the My Challenge Tracker.  This exclusive group is where you will find motivation, success stories, support, and your daily check in.

What does a Challenge Group Actually Do?

The Challenge Group specifics are determined by what type of challenge it is. However both the free and the longer ones will have daily inspiration, recipes, help with meal planning, tips for staying on track, help with the workouts, and are a great place for you to ask questions related to health and fitness. It’s like the ultimate support group for your fitness and health goals and it’s free!

Do I have to do a Challenge Group?

Absolutely not, Challenge Groups are for those who would like the accountiability and support of a small group of people who are working on their health and fitness goals as well. We all struggle and support each other but if you prefer to go solo, that’s okay. Would I recommend that you get involved with a Challenge Group though? ABSOLUTELY.

Do I have to Post Before and After Pictures of Myself?

OMG NO!! If I had been told that it was required of me to post before and after photos of myself I don’t think I would have EVER done a challenge group. I personally didn’t start posting them until I was more comfortable in my own skin and felt confident enough. However, I still get that wrench in my stomach everytime I do.

With that being said, I would HIGHLY recommend taking before pictures and measurements for your own records.  You will be suprised with how much a scale can LIE.  In my last challenge group, I had one challenge only lose 2lbs. However, she lost a total of 12 inches, and her after photos showed the progress she had made.

You can keep your photos and measurements private, message them to me as your coach, or post them to the groups.  Any way you do it, the whole group is there to encourage and support you along your own path.

I’m and Old Pro/New to Fitness. Can a Challenge Group REALLY Help?

No matter what your fitness level, I strongly encourage you to join a Challenge Group. Not only do I give you encouragement on those days when you’d rather stay in your pajamas, but it gives you an opportunity to get support and help others. You don’t have to have any experience at all with fitness to be a wonderful, active member of a Challenge Group. Your level right now is the perfect level to start at. Don’t be afraid, don’t worry about being judged, your Challenge Group is there to support you at your level and encourage you to do your best.

If you’re debating whether or not to get involved, to enter into this world of health and fitness support through a Challenge Group, I say, Go for it! You have nothing to lose, but everything to gain with new friends, a strong support system, and help to reach your goals. I believe in you and I know that you can do whatever it is that you put your mind to.
